About

Ayuri Art is dedicated to the expression of erotic curiosity and essence of human sexuality through sculptural media, primarily stone, and to the tradition of working with our hands to create unique objects.

Life and Death represent cycle and balance. The energy that fuels our existence is sacred and mysterious. Many ancient cultures, in order to understand such divine essence, created various artifacts for the purpose of ritual, protection, survival as well as for pleasure. These ancient artifacts speak of sexuality and eroticism with great esteem for life. Genitalia were once powerful symbols to ensure successful harvest and safe delivery of newborns, and sex was regarded as natural and indispensable to human health, contentment and longevity.

We currently live in a world where Man wants to control Nature. Since Industrial Revolution, Western culture with its domineering influence over the world has disrupted balance and harmony with natural phenomena. Judeo-Christian tradition for the longest time has been responsible for the cultures of sexual repression in the West and it has contributed to the ignorance in the studies of sexuality. While some aspects of our lives seem to have improved with regards to technological advancement, much of our ancient knowledge and wisdom have been lost or forgotten. Ayuri Art wishes to bring about such ancient wisdom and honor human body and sexuality with curiosity and delight, using the beautiful and hard material, something one may draw parallel to an erect phallus.
